Removing Harshness From Cymbals

It's always the same case with cymbals - they tend to sound harsh. Luckily for us, there is one simple way to fix it using only one VST plugin.


Let's take this drums overhead track as an example:

It is a clear example of what I was talking - when cymbal is played, you can hear some whistling which makes it sound a bit harsh.


To address this issue, we can use dynamic equalizer. I like to use TBProAudio's DSEQ3. Here are the settings that I have came up with:
